The Bawang River Aqueduct Replacement Project constructed by Sanhe Company has successfully commenced water flow operation.

   The Bawang River Aqueduct Replacement Project of the East Main Canal in the Shitouhe Reservoir Irrigation Area, constructed by Shaanxi Sanhe Construction Group Co., Ltd., is a key project under Shaanxi Province's "14th Five-Year Plan" for water conservancy development. The project achieved water flow operation at 21:30 on the evening of September 9, 2025, successfully replacing the original aqueduct that had been in operation for nearly 40 years.
   This water flow marks a significant milestone before the Bawang River Aqueduct Replacement Project achieves full completion on schedule and enters efficient operation. The core tasks involved connecting the inlet and outlet works of the Bawang River Aqueduct, cutting the temporary steel flume boxes used during construction, and sealing the original aqueduct—a mission of great significance and high technical difficulty.
   Considering the actual water supply conditions of the irrigation area and the scheduled water suspension nodes, the project department took proactive measures. They formulated practical construction plans for planned water suspension and emergency response in advance. Through strict implementation and the collective efforts of all staff members, the project achieved water flow on schedule.
   As the core control project of the Bawang River Aqueduct Replacement Project, the inverted siphon plays a critical role as the "main artery" for water conveyance. The successful water flow operation not only validates the engineering quality and the scientific nature of the construction plan but also demonstrates the determination and strength of all participants in overcoming challenges. It is of great significance for ensuring the irrigation of 160,000 mu of farmland in seven towns, including Meixian County downstream, as well as the urban water supply security of Xi'an, Xianyang, and Yangling.
